Geographie

Der Weiler liegt circa drei Kilometer sΓΌdΓΆstlich des Hauptorts Scheidegg und zΓ€hlt zur Region WestallgΓ€u. Westlich der Ortschaft liegt Lindenau.

Ortsname

Im Grundwort beschreibt der Ortsname ein Tobel. Das Bestimmungswort kΓΆnnte einen Lein(baum), eine Ahornart, oder ein das mittelhochdeutsche Wort lein fΓΌr Lehm beschreiben.cite-ref-loeffler-2-1[2]

Geschichte

Der Ort wurde erstmals im Jahr 1569 als Leindobel urkundlich erwΓ€hnt.cite-ref-loeffler-2-2[2] 1772 fand die VereinΓΆdung des Orts mit sieben Teilnehmern statt.cite-ref-loeffler-2-3[2] Leintobel gehΓΆrte einst der Herrschaft Altenburg an, spΓ€ter der Gemeinde Scheffau, die 1972 nach Scheidegg eingemeindet wurde.cite-ref-loeffler-2-4[2]
